With more than 12 million coffee workers dispersed over 330,000 farms, Ethiopia has become the second largest coffee producer of Africa, currently holding fifth position in the world. Along with quantity, it manages to bring forth an amazing quality of coffee, too. Ethiopia, the motherland of coffee, has coffee growing in native forests since time immemorial. The coffee growing areas are now divided in different regions, each having distinct flavor profiles. This lot was grown in Yirgacheffe, a micro-region in the Gedeo zone, right in the south of Ethiopia. Thanks to its unique and easily recognizable flavor profile, the micro region has built quite a reputation for itself. This coffee expresses great aromatic complexity and intensity with a particular emphasis on citrus and floral notes.
