Located in the heart of Ethiopia's renowned Gera District in Jimma Zone, Gera Farm is one of the country's largest specialty coffee estates, spanning approximately 1,000 hectares. Commitment to sustainable coffee production and full traceability, the farm combines large-scale cultivation with meticulous quality management from cultivation through export.
The farm cultivates a diverse selection of high-performing Ethiopian coffee varieties, including 74-140, 74-4, 74-110, 74-112, 75-227, and 74-158, all selected for their excellent cup quality and disease resistance. Coffee is grown under a sustainable agroforestry system with natural shade trees including Cordia Africana, Acacia, and Ensete, while no chemical fertilizers or insecticides are used.
At the washing station, cherries undergo rigorous quality control using standardized fermentation tanks, carefully monitored water quality, and an extensive drying infrastructure with more than 279 coded raised beds. Every processing stage is fully traceable, ensuring consistency and transparency from harvest to export.
The combination of fertile red-brown soils, cool high-altitude climate, abundant rainfall, and precision-driven processing results in exceptionally clean coffees with remarkable sweetness, refined acidity, and the elegant complexity that has made Gera one of Ethiopia's most respected coffee-producing regions.
